No that’s not castism!

Castism is compelling a woman to bare her breasts before the upper castes.
Castism is to abduct a Dalit teen girl and tell her helpless father she’d be returned in few hours.
Castism is to rape a woman simply for being a Dalit.
Castism is to lynch a man and put his severed penis in his mouth for loving an upper caste girl.
Castism is punishing someone in the most gruesome way for wearing shoes or good clothes.
Castism is to force a community to eat rats and drink water from potholes.
Castism is to rob someone of his labor, his lands, and his self-respect.
Castism is to benefit from thousands of years of systematic oppression and then have an objection to social justice and affirmative action.
Castism is NOT pointing out which class came up with the idea of caste oppression and which class benefits from it.

Private, Public and State

We’re living in a neoliberal world where one can’t get proper education in govt schools or treatment in govt hospitals, in fact every govt facility is viewed with disgust and suspicion. From education to health to public transportation to job market we all can witness an increasing withdrawal of State.
If we have to pay the private players for everything that a welfare state promises to do for its citizens why are we asked to pay taxes to the state in the first place? To buy bombs and bullets that are being used against its own masses??
This state hegemony is an interesting phemenon, on one hand it believes in gradual withdrawal of its influence from all spheres of a citizen’s welfare while on the other hand it demands from its citizens a complete physical and psychological surrender towards its rule.
It’s the masses under the state subjugation that are forced to grow food, join army, fight wars, pay taxes and keep the machinery running and the same masses are asked to prove their loyalty from time to time.
This is done by maintain the delusion that state is feeding and protecting the masses not the other way round. The same state that is being run by the Bourgeois class that is buying colonies in poor countries and political class whose children are settled abroad.
In the second world war 3 million died in the great Bengal famine but today each year more than 3 million are starved to death in other words we are having a Bengal holocaust every year. We live in a nation where 70℅ people live on less than $2 a day and the state expects these people can afford expensive educational and medical facilities of the private sectors. The Indian state is just replicating the American model undermining the fact that India is still a third world nation.
After all this the state expects us to remain loyal to a bunch of oligarchs and fund our own oppression. State is nothing but the coldest of all cold monsters, everything it says is a lie and everything it has is stolen.
Let the Bourgeois class bear the burden of nationalist pride, life is already a war for the commoners.

Oppression??

I see oppression when I hear songs equating fair skin with beauty!
I see oppression when I see movies demonizing the black colour!
I see oppression when I see rappers and singers shamelessly taking pride in their caste!
I see oppression when use of certain words make you a traitor!
I see oppression when asking a certain question can make you anti national!
I see oppression when mocking transgenders and gays is made acceptable!
I see oppression when I hear words like blasphemy and sedition!
I see oppression when people talk as if communism is the synonym for terrorism!
I see oppression when people talk as though utopia is a mental disorder!
I see oppression when people act as if they are compelled to waste their fortunes on festivals and marriages!
I see oppression when actors who don’t even appear to be Indians discuess their first world problems in a third world country on the silver screen!
I see oppression when nationalism appears to be all about country and not the countrymen!
I see oppression when people tell me oppression is justified!
So guess I only see oppression!

Culture: A dirty word like religion and nation

The root of oppression lies not only in the economic structure but also in culture!
It’s the culture that conditions human mind much before it becomes capable enough to think.
Its the culture that plants the vague idea of good and bad in human intellect.
Its the culture that teaches gender bias and gender roles.
Its the culture that teaches to limit one’s compassion to a certain group of people.
It’s the culture preaches man to be judgemental and whom to respect and whom to look down upon.
it’s the culture that infects human mind with religious fanaticism, nationalism, racism and a lot many isms.
And moreover it’s the culture that teaches humans to accept things as they are because they have been followed by a lot many people for a lot many years.
So yes culture is central to legitimization of oppression.
